Sonata in C (1989)

for Organ

Sonata in C Cover
Duration

12' 00" / 19 pages

Technical Level

Intermediate to Advanced

Description

The three movements of the Sonata are I. Vivace, a fantasia; II. Adagio, elegaic, concluding with a high register flute solo; and III. Allegro moderato, a fugue for organo pleno. Tightly constructed along modern principles -- two different melodic cells generating all musical gestures -- the work is nonetheless clearly tonal with an engaging French Romantic accent.
